Hooray, u know what... this is century post at Meyyaram...

Hit the http:// May 22nd - 70 odd days completed - It's something which pulled us together and we stand here. The blog growed for sure. The whole concept behind this blog start is us cousins to 'Be in touch' - not by clogging our Inboxes, at the same time to get something productive out of our chats. We dont know how much productive stuffs we reaped till now, but for the 1st factor, we hit the bulls eye. By the way, you cant be a man on the first day. We have the hope as the hours and days pass, this blog will serve the other factors as well.

I cant stop thinking how the blog will feel, If everybody of us actually start to make the real contribution. Trust me, at the inital stages, what you contribute hardly matters, your posts dont have to carry the weightage, a simple HI to all post or writing comments to the other people posts is more than enough. Once you start hitting the blog regularly, you get the rhythm and you suddenly realize there is so much to write and share about. Yeah, that's what exactly the blog wants us to do.

Time constraint - the main excuse people have in their pockets ready. We dont want you guys to sit before the system hours together everyday writing posts, you can steal few minutes when you check mails, before you go to bed, during lunch breaks, during the week ends, during breaks in TV shows, oh, come on..dont say you dont have time. Take this to heart, we are not criticising people those who are not contributing or not checking the blog, but we invite them to take part in this, simply for the reason it's our space and we gotta run it.. Would somebody invite the Bride and the Groom to their OWN marriage, we do. PLEASE PAY VISIT & PARTICIPATE.
we are not complaining.

Allrighty, this 100th post would be a quick flashback session of these 70 odd days, but what we did. deep thinking accompanied by long silence.. kidding...

Pencil Sketches...

Tuesday, June 06, 2006

Hi

A few years back I started with Pencil sketching(not with color pencils). When I came to US, for some reason, I started liking colors, bright colors. Probably it makes me happy. So I switched to Color pencil sketching. Wanted to do some portraits but realised its too much to start with. So I did a pencil sketch of Bridge over place that was covered with Snow(hope "snow" is recognizable from the sketch).

Surprisingly, when I went to India, my cousin Sridhar had done a "similar" water color painting. Similarity here is the snow- bridge but either of us didnt know that we had done something similar. So I took pictures of it. Sridhar - Sorry for putting it in the blog without asking you!!!

Then I moved on. Wanted to try something different. "Different" in adding more perspectives to the image. I wanted to place different objects at different locations. So I caught hold of a Children's story book that has this picture which I sketched. Jokingly I called the small boy in the picture - "Ramana" ( Ramana when he was young ofcourse!!!:)

Then I wanted to try "Confined spaces" unlike the above image which is spread unbound. I tried to bring the perspective of a room. I struggled to merge the Wall and the floor but managed to some extent. Frankly a pain in pencil sketching is "Sharpening pencils". Believe me, more than sketching, I was sharpening some pencils so much that one of the pencil's length is just a little longer than the length of my middle finger. But end of it is what is below.

Next I want to try something different, challenging or inspiring...Will continue to post them as I do.

Loop Player !!

Tuesday, May 23, 2006

click on the 'loop player' above to get it installed...this would be the interface, for the guys who haven't used it..

guys,

i think the best wae to share photos is to first get the 'loop player' installed in your PC. so that If you gonna share some photos or I am gonna include some photos, we all can do it in the loop player and just put the loop reference in the blog. ( Infact, you get the invitation to view the newly included photos or the new loop in your loop player itself, when you connect to net )

and guys wondering about 'loop player' here is the definition...

Loop player is a small individual program like winamp, winzip... which allows you to create loop of your photos from your PC. It's essential that guys interested in photo sharing should get the loop player installed first.

once you are done with the installation, you should be able to see my collection of travel pics and in this point you are also ready to create your own loops of pics.

click 'create' command and click 'new loop with my photos' to create your own loop. Once you get done with the loop, just click the 'share' command and click 'use web email' command to copy the URL of the loop, say OK to the prompt. saying 'ok' to the prompt actually copies the URL of the loop in your clipboard.

come to this blog space and paste your ( ctrl + v ) Loop URl, and that's done. Easy.

The greatest thing about this player is you practically dont need to resize, upload the pics. 'Loop Player' take cares of everything and the other interesting feature is if you add photos to the loop which you already shared with somebody, you dont have to resend the invitation, the photos gets automatically uploaded in their loop player. so the next time they open their player, they'll be looking the photos straight away.

more information on how to use and about the features can be found in the loop player help section.

[ guys cant say i have installed, coz once you installed, your name appears in the enrolled list. :-)

cheers
srikanth

What can be posted here

Monday, May 22, 2006

This is a short list of things that can be posted here. Create a new thread whenever you are posting something on a new topic.

1.
Post your Photographs - Srikanth, Siva and others who would like to post photographs please use this space. All photographs must be of or lesser than medium size and please have the descriptions written. No point in posting IMG5638.3783.

If you are providing a link and commenting on someone else photos or things on the web just add the link. Dont copy paste photos from other web sites. Use the loop player that siva and srikanth have been using.

Srikanth you can start a thread and start lessons for photography here.

2. Videos..Again provide links..Videos are too bulky.

3. Audio links. I am checking audio blogs for that. We can create a new blog for that. So dont use this space for putting your own audio files (like sridhars music).
Use this space to comment on other music sites or audio files (AVOID anything to do with Films in the arts area). You can comment on devotional music and other kinds of music.

4. Anything to do with arts - painting, photography, architecture.
